Da Nang (VNA) – An event titled “Dance for Kindness” was held by the Young Connection Club under the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee in the central city of Da Nang on November 13 in response to the World Kindness Week 2016. The event, featuring freezmob and flasmob dances and other activities such as signing “kindness to environment” commitments, aimed to encourage people to build a world of kindness, trust, hope and love. Dance for Kindness was part of the global Kind for Kindness events founded in 2012 by Life Vest Inside (LVI), a non-profit organisation based in New York, the US. Dancing competition for children launched
PANO - A "Dancing with Child Stars", a new playground for children, aged from 6 to 13, who love dancing, will begin this summer. This first-ever competition, organized nationwide, will give child dancers a chance to shine and develop their ability and love for dance on the professional stage. Contestants, required to have performing skills, creativeness and love for dance, will compete in 3 rounds with different topics, which will be judged by a three-member jury. The first round will be held at the Savico Megamall in Long Bien district, Hanoi, on April 26th-27th, and at the Grand Palace in Ho Chi Minh City on May 3rd-4th. ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, local version, on air tonight
The semi-final round of the Vietnamese version of American reality dancing show "So You Think You Can Dance", open to all amateur and professional dancers aged 16 to 30, will be broadcast on five TV channels nationwide every Saturday night from September 15. The show which will be on the channels of HTV7, DRT, CVTV1, HN2 and YanTV will showcase performances of 109 best contestants chosen from 2,900 participants at the nationwide qualifier round during the last three months. At the semi-final round, contestants have to perform individually, in pairs and groups and then have to explain why they choose that kind of dance. As Jeff Thacker, co-producer of the American version said, there’s no specific requirement, no boundaries and no limit on the style of dance including hip-hop, contemporary, ballet, or jazz.
