Phu Tho has first tea product given national five-star OCOP rating

Ltd, based in Chi Tien commune of Thanh Ba district, the northern midland province of Phu Tho, has been rated five stars at the national level under the One Commune, One Product (OCOP) programme. The Hoai Trung “dinh” tea premium product is the combination of three special varieties planted on the hills of Thanh Ba district and undergoing a special processing technique to create a unique taste. Bui Thi Mao, Director of the Hoai Trung Tea Co. Ltd , said one kilogramme of dried “dinh” tea needs at least seven - eight kilogrammes of fresh buds to be made. After being picked, tea buds must be left to dry naturally for four - five hours before they are put into rubbing and drying machines for processing. No clean water for thousands of Hanoi families this summer
Le Minh Hong in Duc Thuong Commune is using long hoses to transport water from a well into his 10 m3 water tank. The current water shortage has his whole neighborhood innovating in industrious and creative ways to procure hydration and keep from drying. Hong’s tank’s sand filtration process removes poisonous metallic particles from the water, making it safe to drink. Nguyen Dinh Ha, general director of the Western Hanoi Water company, said around 7,000 families in Hoai Duc District have been affected by the water shortage. The long water shortage has turned lives upside down. Local resident Binh said his family has been living without clean water for nearly a week. He's had to ask his neighbors for well water. National traffic safety contest organised on larger scale this year
The 2023 National Traffic Safety Contest will be organised for six months on a larger scale and with bigger prizes. Deputy Director of the Traffic Police Department, Le Xuan Duc, speaks at the launching ceremony of the Vietnam Traffic Safety Initiative 2023 programme on April 5. The contest, which is co-organised by the Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security, Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper and Toyota Vietnam Company, will open for entries until August 25 with total prizes amounting to VND321 million. This is the second year the annual contest is launched under the Vietnam Traffic Safety Initiative 2023 programme, which aims at seeking initiatives and solutions for current traffic issues including reducing traffic accidents and congestion in Vietnam.
