Australian PM tries Hanoi draft beer during visit to Vietnam
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese spent time visiting a local beer spot in Hanoi to enjoy bia hoi (light Vietnamese draft beer) after he arrived in the Vietnamese capital city on Saturday afternoon. PM Albanese joined a crowd at a draft beer spot on Duong Thanh Street, Hoan Kiem District to drink ice-cold draft beer and have lunch there. The Australian leader sat at the same table as that of Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia Nguyen Tat Thanh and Director of the State Protocol Department Nguyen Viet Dung. Before visiting the draft beer spot, PM Albanese bought a loaf of banh mi, a Vietnamese baguette served with different fillings, for lunch. Dien Bien faces anthrax outbreak
The northern mountainous province of Dien Bien has recorded 13 anthrax patients who contracted the disease either through eating or the slaughter of buffaloes and cows. According to the provincial Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, the cases were detected between May 5-30. The patients are from the communes of Muong Bang and Xa Nhe in Tua Chua District. Up to 94-95 percent anthrax cases are infected through open skin wounds The Ministry of Health has instructed Dien Bien’s Department of Health to keep close watch on the patients as well as those who participated in the slaughter of cows and buffaloes and shared the same source of meat. Local residents have also warned of not using buffalo meat and beef of unclear origin. The National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology has been asked to support the province in disease prevention and control. Vietnam’s Vingroup to premiere homemade animated series on YouTube
VinTaTa, an in-house animation studio owned by Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup, has announced that its first-ever original animated series, “Monta trong dai ngan ha ky cuc” (Monta in the Bizarre Galaxy), would be aired on YouTube from this weekend. The first four episodes of the series, running five minutes each, will be aired at 12:00 pm, 4:00 pm, 6:00 pm, and 8:00 pm on Sunday. Subsequent episodes will be broadcast on the video-sharing site every Thursday and Sunday, at 8:00 pm and 6:00 pm, respectively, VinTaTa said in a statement. Quang Ninh’s militia force building inspected
On inspecting the standing militia posts of Mong Cai city and Binh Lieu district and hearing reports of the Quang Ninh provincial Military Command, Lt. Gen. Nguyen Doan Anh praised the Northern province for its outstanding achievements in organizing and training the standing militia force as well as implementing policies for them. The GS deputy chief asked the provincial military command to continue to make recommendations to local party committees and authorities to issue guidelines to direct the implementation of military and defense missions in general and operation of the militia force in particular.
