Quang Ninh hosts Halong Bay Heritage Marathon 2020

The competition was jointly organised by Quang Ninh and the Vietnam Track-and-Field Federation. The event attracted more than 2,500 local runners and about 150 foreigners who are living and working in Vietnam. Athletes competed in the 5-10-21-42km race categories. According to organisers, the Halong Bay Heritage Marathon 2019 attracted approximately 3,000 athletes of whom half were foreigners coming from 56 countries and territories. But this year’s event saw a sharp drop in the number of foreigners taking part due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, they said. Halong Bay Heritage Marathon is one of the largest, professional and best organized international marathon competitions in Vietnam. It takes place every year on the last Sunday of November at the UNESCO-recognised World Heritage Site. The race aims to create a healthy environment where enthusiasts can challenge themselves, meet and share experiences. I took a cruise through Saigon by waterbus, and I was not disappointed

Easily one of the most underrated way to see the city, the Saigon Waterbus could provide waves of excitement for the city’s stagnant tourism sector. Spending a day exploring a city by waterbus has been popular in Western countries for quite some time, but it was not until the end of 2017 that Saigon finally introduced its own boat tours through its maze of waterways. I’ve wanted to try out the waterbus ever since it came into operation about three years ago, and as a sunset lover I thought it’d be the perfect chance to catch the sun sink below the skyline from the middle of the Saigon River. Then on a weekend afternoon, I decided to finally stop putting it off and take a few hours off work to finally see what the waterbus is all about. A passenger captures the sunset moment from the waterbus in Ho Chi Minh City on March 31, 2021. Photo: Linh To / Tuoi Tre Tickets for the waterbus can be purchased either on the website or from kiosks at each of the stations. To avoid any risk of seats selling out, I chose to purchase my tickets online and was able to use the posted schedule to figure out exactly which time would be perfect to embark on my sunset journey. Ho Chi Minh City's 10.8-kilometer-long waterbus route connects Bach Dang Port in District 1 with Linh Dong Ward in the outlying district of Thu Duc, by way of the Saigon River and the Thanh Da Canal. Currently, Bach Dang, Binh An, Thanh Da, Hiep Binh Chanh, and Linh Dong make up the route’s five stops with more expected to be added in the near future. Singapore taking lead in cruise services: tourism board

Illustrative image (Photo: Internet) Hanoi (VNA) – The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) said on April 7 that the country now accounts for one-third of the world’s cruise travellers, attributing this to the success of its “cruises to nowhere” at a time the industry has still been struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic globally. Cruise services have yet to be resumed in many parts of the world after some big outbreaks were found on cruise ships last year. In November 2020, Singapore launched what it called "round trips" on luxury liners which have no port of call and last for only a few days. STB said Singapore’s cruises are currently open only to its 5.7 million residents, who have been unable to leave the city-state for leisure due to the pandemic. The cruises recorded about 120,000 passengers and run at lower capacity as a result of stringent health protocols, according to the board./. VNA …
