Illustrative image (Source: VNA) Khanh Hoa (VNA) – The Forest Protection Department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development , in collaboration with the United States Forest Service (USFS), held a workshop on building a law enforcement curriculum for forest rangers in Vietnam on June 30 in the central province of Khanh Hoa. Speaking at the workshop, Nguyen Quoc Hieu, Deputy Director of the Forest Protection Department , said that the event is an important demonstration of progress in cooperation between the department and the USFS to jointly develop a standardised training programme in law enforcement for Vietnam ese rangers. Vietnam proposes Japan help in law-making capacity building

The PM also proposed Japan support Vietnam in accelerating digital transformation in justice and capacity building in defending international legal cases, particularly in the fields of politics, trade and economy. Ngoc highly appreciated Furukawa for selecting Vietnam as one of the destinations in his first foreign trip since taking office in October 2021, saying Japan was the first bilateral partner providing technical support for Vietnam in legal and judicial matters, particularly through projects run by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Vietnam since 1996. UK multinationals pledge long-term presence in Vietnam

Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue on June 29 held several meetings with executives of UK multinationals, including Prudential, Standard Chartered, Pacific Land, Pearson, and Enterprize Energy. Accordingly, a new decree, coded 38/2022/ND-CP, on raising the regional minimum wage for labourers will come into effect on July 1. The 6 percent increase is equivalent to a rise of 260,000 VND (11.20 USD) in Region 1, and 240,000 VND, 210,000 VND, and 180,000 VND in Regions 2, 3, and 4, respectively. The document to this effect also specifies that the minimum hourly wage will range from 15,600 to 22,500 VND, which also depends on the region. The geographical classification is determined based on the employer’s place of operation. Vietnam reaffirms support for U.N. Secretary-General’s appeal for global ceasefire

In her remarks, Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Tra, Charge d'affaires a.i. of Vietnam to the U.N., pointed out that while the COVID-19 pandemic continues to threaten peace and development efforts, conflicts in many regions have led to heavy casualties and growing humanitarian challenges. She held that the international community should give high priority to ensuring compliance with international laws and the U.N. Charter. She also underlined the role of multilateralism and multilateral mechanisms with the U.N. at their center. To promote a ceasefire, it is necessary to boost compliance with Resolutions 2532 and 2565, and relevant resolutions of the U.N.
