Two-way trade jumped 250 percent to 6.6 billion USD in 2018 from 2.52 billion USD in 2010, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Minh Khoi told a seminar on December 6. A Vietnamese taxi driver accused an American woman of Vietnamese descendant of sexually harassing him on May 4 but oddly the latter had reported to local police that she was raped by another cabbie just a couple of days earlier.
