There are currently only passenger trains running at weekends. From September 5, services from Hanoi to Lao Cai will be available on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Trains will depart from Hanoi Railway Station at 10pm and arrive at Lao Cai Railway Station at 5:55am. From Lao Cai to Hanoi, services will be available on Wednesdays and Sundays, starting from September 7. Trains will leave Lao Cai at 9:30pm and drop off passengers at Hanoi Station at 5:25am. 6 arrested for smuggling Chinese into Vietnam
Officers in Lao Cai that borders China on Tuesday caught two people on a motorbike following suspicious behavior, Vietnam News Agency reported. Nguyen Hoang Minh Duc, 19, and passenger Cao Hoang Vu, 18, both locals, said they had joined four other men late Monday night to collect two Chinese men near the border in Bat Xat District. The other four were found to be Hoang Ba Duoc, 19, Tran Nguyen Hung, 22, Ly Van Mong, 35, and Do Van Tiep, 34, police announced Wednesday. Using car tires, some had swam across the Red River, transporting two Chinese individuals into Vietnam during the first hours of Tuesday. The two Chinese are Duan Xi Pi, 22, from Xiamen in Fujian Province and Zhu Lin, 33, from Jiangsu Province. Torrential rain sinks streets, houses in northern Vietnamese province
Multiple streets and houses in Lao Cai Province, northern Vietnam were severely inundated following a heavy downpour on Thursday evening. The provincial steering committee for natural disaster prevention and rescue told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Friday that local authorities were dealing with the aftermath of the rain and calculating the total damage it had done. ETC system: insufficient balance accounts occupy 80 percent of transaction error
