However, the court ruled against all the claimant’s demands on Wednesday. Trang had claimed that in June 2017, Tien had asked to borrow VND1.5 billion from her. Trang said Tien had asked for the money to help with preparations for her appearance in the Miss Southern Vietnam 2017 contest. According to Trang, Tien promised to pay the money back in full after one year. Trang, 36, asked her friend Nguyen Quan Trong to sign a promissory note for the loan on her behalf because she feared she wouldn’t be able to collect the debt on her own. Ho Chi Minh City installs solar-powered trash cans to boost waste classification
The People’s Committees of District 5 and District 11 in Ho Chi Minh City have joined forces with Green Resources Technology Company to place 200 solar-powered rubbish bins at key spots to encourage residents and tourists to sort garbage. District 11 will install 84 solar-powered trash cans at sidewalks, the yards of state agencies, and schools. These green rubbish bins are set to gradually replace the current public trash cans. In the first quarter of 2019, the administration of District 5 piloted the installation of 21 hi-tech trash cans at 10 schools. The district decided to expand this pilot program this year due to the positive results of the installation. These bins have two compartments for organic waste and other rubbish. Steering committee seeks solutions to realize green growth targets
The Deputy PM required the committee to update green growth-related statistics and targets since the COP26, and study experiences of countries in implementing green growth strategies with a view to draw out lessons for Vietnam. He underlined the need to identify a number of pilot projects in priority fields such as legal framework, science-technology, education-training and digital transformation, which will serve as the foundation for green growth in sectors with large emissions like agriculture or transport. River Tales is a four-minute short documentary produced by Coca-Cola about The Ocean Cleanup’s Interceptor technology in the Mekong region, shining a light on how plastic pollution is impacting the Can Tho River and the opportunity to make a tangible difference through technology and community action. The Interceptor Original is the first scalable technology solution to prevent plastic from entering the world’s oceans from rivers, and after years of planning, Interceptor 003 was first launched into the Can Tho River in December 2021 and is operated by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Can Tho City.
