The meetings were part of an official visit to Laos by a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security (MPS). The delegation also attended the inauguration ceremony of the Academy of Politics of the Lao People's Public Security, a gift from the Vietnamese Government and MPS to the Lao MPS. Vietnam, Brazil and the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (GAVI) jointly organised the seminar with the participation of representatives from the World Health Organisation (WHO). Photographer Viet Van is the winner of another photography award in America, the latest addition to his collection of 80 international photography awards. Hanoi-based photographer Tran Viet Van of Lao Dong (Labor) newspaper was among the honorable mentions at the 20th International Photography Awards (IPA) 2023 in the US. Van's entry, which consists of nine color photos with the theme Nhip dap thoi gian (The Rhythm of Time), was recognized in the Press Photo category. The visit was in the framework of the “One day with U.N. peacekeepers” program held on the occasion of the International Day of Peace (September 21). At Highway Base, where Vietnam’s Engineering Company Rotation 2 is stationed, Major General Benjamin Olufemi Sawyerr met with Vietnamese peacekeepers in Abyei and gave positive evaluation about their task performance, especially impressive achievements obtained by Vietnamese engineers. UNISFA’s official said that Vietnamese engineering force has turned Highway into one of the most beautiful bases. He highly appreciated the Vietnamese force’s military-civilian activities which have contributed to enhancing local people’s living standards. According to Gen.
