Two boys drown in Thua Thien-Hue beach
A group of ninth graders, all aged around 15, visited a public beach in Phu Loc District on Sunday afternoon. While they were swimming, Nguyen Huynh Phuc Thinh and Nguyen Van Hien were dragged away by strong waves. Their friends sought help, and 10 border guard officers and several local fishermen began to look for them. After around half an hour they found the body of Hien around 20 m from shore. The Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Lam Dong Province, located in Vietnam's Central Highlands region, has allowed the organization of a 100-kilometer forest trail run in Da Lat City, a popular tourist destination of the province, over three years after its ban. The ban was issued following the death of a runner who was swept away by floodwaters while participating in the Dalat Ultra Trail 2020, an international marathon, in June 2020. The victim was running across a section of the Golden Stream in Lac Duong District’s Da Sal Commune when the 40-year-old met with the accident.
