Northern region to face cold spell
The northern region of Vietnam has been forecasted to experience rainy and cold weather from today, March 25. According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, a light cold front has started affecting some northeastern localities. The light cold weather has hit the northern region From this evening, the cold weather will continue affecting other localities in the northeast and some in the northwest. The provincial People’s Committee held a ceremony on March 24 to receive the special national relic site certificate. Tran Hoang Tuan, Standing Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee, said that in 1909, French archaeologist M.Vinet discovered antiquities of the Sa Huynh Civilisation. These ancient artifacts first appeared about 3,000 years ago and ended in the first century AD. Vietnam was deemed to be at the right time to start facilitating offshore wind energy generation in order to fulfill its sustainability goals in power development, said experts in the field at a seminar held last week in Hanoi. The seminar, entitled “Promoting Vietnam’s offshore wind power development: International practices and policy recommendations”, was co-held by the Vietnamese Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission and the Embassy of Denmark in Vietnam.
