Vietnam needs digital tourism map
Vietnam is in need of a national digital tourism map which features tourism resources, destinations, and service providers to support tourists as well as local tourism service providers. The proposal on the digital map has been made and attracted the attention of local enterprises, but it has yet to be rolled out. Nguyen Quoc Ky, chairman of Vietravel Holdings, a local travel firm, said the digital tourism map would meaningfully increase the competitiveness of Vietnam’s tourism sector and help sell more tours at higher prices. Ho Chi Minh City plans shift to e-bus service in Can Gio
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport has put forward a plan to switch to electric buses in the city’s outlying district of Can Gio to cut carbon dioxide emissions. The plan is part of the city’s emissions reduction and transport management strategy in the coming years, according to a recent conclusion made by Tran Quang Lam, director of the municipal department. The municipal department asked relevant units to review the advantages and strength of electric vehicles and compare them to cars powered by other green energy forms such as compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). These agencies were told to weigh up the prices and maintenance costs of electric buses and assess the emissions from them as well as their charging speed and lifespan. Hungary to grant scholarships to 3 Vietnamese football talents
Three Vietnamese football talents aged 13-14 are expected to receive scholarships from Hungary so as to be trained in this Central European nation for multiple years to become professional players. These are among 200 scholarships that Hungary will offer for Vietnamese students to follow higher education involving sports at top universities in the European country, heard attendees at a recent meeting between Vietnam Sports Administration and a Hungarian Olympic Committee delegation. Szabo Bence, director of the House of Hungary at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, said the Hungarian Olympic Committee mapped out many programs to promote sports cooperation with Vietnam.
