Conference seeks ways to boost Vietnam - Barcelona business connection A trade conference connecting firms of Vietnam and Spain’s Barcelona region was held in Hanoi on November 12. The event, jointly held by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Port of Barcelona, created a chance for businesses of the two sides to meet and seek cooperation. According to the VCCI, investors from Spain have paid increasing attention to Vietnam with their strengths in renewable energy, infrastructure, tourism, high technology, construction and architecture. Vietnam is Spain’s leading trade partner among the ASEAN countries. In the past 10 years, two-way trade increased 15 percent a year, hitting over 3 billion USD in 2017. Petrol prices see steep fall on November 6 The retail prices of petrol fell sharply from 3pm on November 6 following the latest adjustments by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Accordingly, the price of E5 RON 92 declined 1,082 VND to trade at a maximum of 19,600 VND per litre, and RON95 dropped 1,138 VND in its price to a maximum of 21,065 VND per litre. Meanwhile, the price of diesel 0.05S went down 67 VND per litre to 18,644 VND. The prices of kerosene and mazut 180CST 3.5S remain unchanged and should not be higher than 17,086 VND and 15,694 VND per litre, respectively. The Ministry of Industry said that RON 92 was sold at an average of 78.7 USD per barrel globally half month ago, down nearly 9 USD from the previous period. Those of RON95 and diesel 0.06S were 80.52 USD per barrel and 92.27 USD per barrel, respectively. TH Group imports 1,800 more dairy cows from US Vietnamese dairy firm TH True Milk (TH Group) on October 14 received nearly 1,800 dairy cows of 3 or 5-month pregnancy which were inseminated through embryo transfer from US’ high-yield dairy cow Holstein Friesian. This is the largest herd of cows that TH has imported from the US so far. The group’s husbandry experts carefully examined standards related to origin, genealogy, genetic potential, appearance, physical strength, potential for milk production and ability to fight diseases in the tropical region. All individuals in the herd weigh 400-500 kg and are expected to produce 12,000 litres per head each 305 days on average. Milk production from these cows will begin in January 2019.
