She made the remarks on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Russia strategic partnership statement (March 1). The statement is a clear confirmation of the aspirations of Vietnamese and Russian people for enhancing the bilateral ties on the basis of the time-honoured friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, the spokeswoman said. The signing is the result decades-long, effective collaboration between Vietnam and Russia across spheres, while demonstrating their determination to expand the relationship in the new historical context, according to the statement. Zakharova said over the past two decades, the strategic partnership has reaped impressive achievements, with high-level political dialogues and visits at the highest level by leaders of the two countries maintained. Meanwhile, cooperation in trade, economy, military and military technology, science-technology, and humanitarian collaboration have also received more momentum. She highlighted the intensified exchanges between the parliaments, Parties and localities, and new cooperation mechanisms, saying Vietnam and Russia elevated their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2021. The solidarity and mutual support have been reflected during the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, Zakharova said. Vietnam to realize 6.5% growth target: PM

Photo: Quang Hieu Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc stressed the view at a monthly government meeting on March 2, which were attended by government leaders and representatives of ministries and sectors. Among measures to boost growth, the PM stressed the importance of enhancing greater efficiency in global integration to boost exports and attract high quality   foreign direct investment (FDI). “The current situation presents huge opportunity for Vietnam to attract investment capital,” stressed Phuc, adding a favorable investment environment is a must to keep capital inflow from growing. In addition to the role of state-owned corporations, Phuc said it is vital for Vietnam to further boost the development of private sector and public investment funds, in turn contributing to economic growth and creating the foundation for long-term development. According to Phuc, disbursement of public funds is a major mission, for which the Government Office is tasked with inspecting efficiency in disbursing public funds and ODA-funded projects. Phuc stressed the importance of reviewing current supporting programs and proposing new ones to assist businesses and people affected by the pandemic. “Nurturing economic growth drivers and creating long-term revenue sources are the objective for monetary and fiscal policies,” said Phuc. Prime minister urges to provide Covid-19 vaccination right this week

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked the Ministry of Health to carry out the Covid-19 vaccination for people this week. The prime minister made the request at the government’s regular meeting on March 2. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the meeting According to the government leader, to date, localities have basically controlled Covid-19, except for Kim Thanh District in the northern province of Hai Duong. He noted that Covid-19 vaccines for people and applying Covid-19 prevention regulations were Vietnam's best measures in the fight against the virus. The Ministry of Health needed to quickly deploy the vaccination programme in line with newly-issued resolution. The work needs to be started this week. Under the government’s resolution on the purchase and use of Covid-19 vaccines, Vietnam has planned to provide around 150 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine for local people free of charge this year. The vaccines are sourced through purchase, imports and aid. The vaccines will be prioritised to medical workers; people in the anti-pandemic efforts (Covid-19 prevention and control steering committees of all levels, quarantine facility staff, reporters); diplomats, customs officers and people working entry and exit procedures; military personnel; public security forces; teachers; those aged above 65; essential workers (aviation, transport, tourism staff, utility workers, etc.); people with chronic health problems; people who want to study or work overseas; and people in virus-hit regions. …
