Nine low carbon projects from across Vietnam were announced as the first cohort to join Climate Finance Accelerator (CFA) Vietnam on Monday by the British Embassy in Hanoi. The selected projects represent diverse sectors such as renewable energy, resource/energy efficiency, e-mobility, decarbonising construction, circular economy, and waste management. According to the British Embassy in Hanoi, the nine projects meet many 'green' criteria such as aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions; being at the pre-feasibility stage of development; having a business model that will generate commercially viable returns in the long-term; and contributing to furthering gender equality and social inclusion. Finland aims to attract high-quality human resources from Vietnam
Vietnam is one of the four countries from which Finland is aiming to attract high-skilled personnel through a talent-seeking program that has been introduced in Ho Chi Minh City. The Commercial Section of the Finnish Embassy in Vietnam held a conference on Tuesday in Ho Chi Minh City to debut the Talent Boost program, which helps seek high-quality human resources from Vietnam, as well as from Brazil, Turkey, and India. The program was presented by a Finnish delegation involved in education and work, including Laura Lindeman, senior director and head of work in the Finland Unit at Business Finland, a government organization for innovation funding and trade, travel and investment promotion. More than 50 US firms sound out investment opportunities in Vietnam
As many as 52 large firms of the Unite States, including Boeing, Coca Cola, SpaceX, Netflix, and Apple, have come to Vietnam to seek cooperation opportunities in various fields. UNESCO continues fund for gender equality project in Vietnam
The "We are ABLE" project aims to strengthen the ability of children from ethnic minorities, especially girls, to overcome the challenges they face. Experts propose turning Vietnam’s plastic waste into economic resources
Domestic and foreign exports have proposed solutions to develop a circular economy in Vietnam, including ideas to turn the country’s plastic waste into economic resources. About 0.73 million metric tons of plastic waste was discharged into the ocean of Vietnam in 2022, the World Bank data showed. The current problem that Vietnam needs to solve when it comes to developing the circular economy is how to turn that huge amount of plastic waste into economic resources.
