On the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange, the VN-Index increased 1.05 per cent to close Monday at 1,074.98 points. Similarly, the HNX-Index on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange rose by 1.22 per cent to end at 220.31 points. Market breadth favoured the buyers at the end of the session, with 661 gainers and 205 losers. However, gains were capped by strong net selling activities by foreign investors. The benchmark VN-Index on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) rose 3.07 points, or 0.29 per cent, to close the day at 1,078.05 points. It climbed more than 11.2 points, the biggest intraday gain in two weeks, on Monday thanks to the investor's improving risk appetite. Hoa Binh Construction Group gets new general director
Nam, 47, is a civil engineering graduate from HCMC’s University of Technology. He started working for HBC in 2001 as a supervising engineer and was then promoted to many high-ranking positions. In 2014 he was assigned as the deputy general director in charge of the northern region. In mid-2019, he resigned from this position. HBC’s general director position has been vacant for nearly a year since the company dismissed Le Viet Hieu, son of chairman of the board of directors Le Viet Hai. The HCMC Stock Exchange has announced that HBC stock will be restricted from trading (only in the afternoon session) beginning May 23 because the company is 45 days late in submitting its audited financial statement. The Vietnamese government issued a resolution on solutions to accelerate tourism recovery and develop tourism sustainably and effectively on Thursday, moving toward turning Vietnam into one of the world’s 30 leading countries with the highest tourism competitiveness.
