First Vietnam-Russia Inter-parliamentary Commission discusses new areas of cooperation

The Hanoitimes - The two sides consider inter-parliamentary cooperation an important component of the strategic partnership between the two countries. The first Vietnam-Russia inter-parliament meeting has opened up new areas of cooperation that are poised to foster the comprehensive strategic partnership. Volodin co-chaired the meeting in Moscow last week. “It would be right for us to work more intensively in the economic sphere, developing both foreign economic relations and goods circulation. It is clearly insufficient for the level of our relations. […] For our part, we must do everything to develop cooperation more effectively than today,” the State Duma quoted Viacheslav Volodin. “When we talk about the work of our inter-parliament commission, it should do everything to ensure more dynamical development of foreign economic relations,” he said at the meeting. Viacheslav Volodin supported the idea of creating working groups and said that the adoption of legislative decisions would entail a more active development of relations. Meanwhile, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said “We will do our best to develop cooperation between our countries, trade and economic relations better. Vietnam sees no fresh Covid-19 infections, six new recoveries The Saigon Times Local residents are waiting for their turns to undergo Covid-19 testing in Hai Duong Province. No new Covid-19 cases were reported in Vietnam this evening, March 2 – PHOTO: VNA HCMC – No new Covid-19 cases were reported in Vietnam this evening, March 2, while six more coronavirus patients have fully recovered and were released from hospital on the day, said the Ministry of Health. Up to now, the country’s tally stayed at 2,472, including 1,898 recoveries and 35 fatalities. Of the total number of infections, 1,561 cases were locally infected, with 868 being recorded since January 27 in 13 provinces and cities across the country. Among them, ten localities have reported no new Covid-19 community cases for 17 days, such as HCMC, Hoa Binh, Dien Bien, Quang Ninh. The capital city of Hanoi also had gone 14 days without reporting any fresh locally-transmitted cases. Further,  nearly 58,800 people linked to coronavirus patients or returning to Vietnam from pandemic-hit regions are undergoing quarantine, according to data of the ministry’s national steering committee for Covid-19 infection prevention and control. …

COVID-19: Vietnam records no new cases over 12 hours

Earlier on March 2 morning, the MoH announced 11 community cases in Hai Duong, the epicenter of the country’s latest coronavirus outbreak. The third wave of the coronavirus has spread to 13 cities and provinces across the country since the virus recurred in late January 2021. As many as 868 new cases have been since confirmed, including 684 cases in Hai Duong alone. Hai Duong is the only locality in Vietnam that has reported new cases during the past few days, though the outbreak has been brought under control there. Overall, Vietnam has recorded 2,472 COVID-19 patients since the virus attacked the country in January 2020. Of the total, 1,898 patients have been discharged from hospital, including six on March 2, after making a full recovery from the disease. Among the active cases, 216 have currently tested negative for the virus at least once. The number of deaths caused by COVID-19 and related illnesses remains at 35 nationwide, including 31 in Da Nang, a coronavirus hotspot several months ago. Vietnam is scheduled to kick-start the human clinical trial of Covivac , the second locally made vaccine o March 3. …
