(Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Two Vietnamese university professors were honoured with the Kovalevskaya Award 2021 for their outstanding achievements in applied sciences at a May 16 ceremony with Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan in attendance. The event was held by the Vietnam Women’s Union Central Committee in Hanoi. The awardees were Prof., Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai, Vice Rector of the University of Science at the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM); and Prof., Dr. and Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Minh Thuy, a senior lecturer in food technology at the Faculty of Agriculture, the Can Tho University. (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Dr. Truong Thi Hang, a lecturer at Lampang Rajabhat University in Thailand, devotes her time to helping readers from all over the world understand better about President Ho Chi Minh’s life, career and strong sentiments toward Thailand and its people. Hang is co-author of the book, entitled “President Ho Chi Minh, the Founder of Modern Vietnam – Thailand Relations,” which provides an insight into the late President’s journey to inspire patriotism among the Vietnamese community in Thailand. The event was attended by Chief of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command Major General Le Quang Dao, Deputy Head of the Military Youth Advisory Board Colonel Nguyen Duc Cuong, and Chairman of the People’s Committee of Duy Tien town Pham Hong Thanh. The contest drew the participation of 68 high school students in the areas. The program aimed to raise public awareness of information about national sea and islands, as well as the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) 1982, the Law of the Sea of Vietnam 2012, and the Law on the Vietnam Coast Guard 2018, among others. The activity contributed to building patriotism and raising people’s responsibility for the cause of protecting national sovereignty over sea and islands, strengthening solidarity among troops and students, youths, teachers and the locals.
