The Franco-Vietnamese vaccine expert is the Chief Program Officer at Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. Vietnam needs policies to promote industrialization: Japanese professor
Japan's contributions have helped Vietnam maintain a stable growth trajectory, driven by the far-reaching effects of FDI. Vietnam needs industrialization support policies to encourage industrial development and increase the value added of foreign direct investment (FDI) capital, according to Professor Ikebe Ryo of Japan's Senshu University. Prof. Ikebe Ryo made the remarks at a scientific symposium titled "Vietnam-Japan Relations and Prospects for Economic Cooperation in line with Vietnam's Development Stages" held in Hanoi this week. He talked about the impact of FDI surge on Vietnam's economic growth and industrialization process, and the economic efficiency brought by this source of capital. Fertilizer imports reach two-year high in August
In August, Vietnam imported more than 472,283 tonnes of fertilizer worth $159 million, up 54% over July in volume and 85% in value. This was the highest import volume since July 2021. The fertilizer prices reached $338 a tonne last month, up 19% on-month, but down 26% year-on-year. Ending August, fertilizer imports rose 13% to 2.5 million tonnes, but the import value fell 19% year-on-year to $833 million. During the period, the average price of imported fertilizer was estimated at $347 per tonne, a 25% decrease from last year. China is the country's biggest fertilizer provider so far this year, accounting for roughly half of all imported fertilizer with more than 1.2 million tonnes, valued at $375 million, up 15% on-year in volume and 14% in value. DHL Express partners with ACB to cut carbon emissions using sustainable aviation fuel
This partnership represents a clear commitment by both parties to address climate change within their value chains. DHL Express, the world’s leading international express service provider, on September 19, signed its GoGreen Plus service contract with Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ACB) to reduce carbon emissions for its time-definite international (TDI) shipments through the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). By investing in GoGreen Plus, ACB is estimated to reduce 14 tons worth of total CO2 emissions within a 12-month period. DHL Express and ACB sign the GoGreen Plus contract. GL Cables, Panasonic cooperate to develop smart lighting products

The one-day forum featured one opening and two thematic sessions, and one plenary session - high-level dialogue. In his closing speech, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said in terms of internal capacity and motivations of the economy, delegates opined that it is essential to develop the production sectors of the economy, including agriculture, industry and services; speed up the disbursement of public investment, stimulate consumption demand, develop the domestic market and improve labor productivity. He said they called for synchronous measures to tackle difficulties, restructure various markets, develop and tightly regulate currency, stock, insurance, corporate bond and real estate markets. Court delays businessman’s $12M-lawsuit against supermodel ex-wife

An claimed in his suit that he was the legal owner of nine apartments in HCMC’s District 1, which were registered under Thuy’s name, and which she had rented out. He said the assets were bought with the $3 million he sent Thuy from the U.S. through an agency, supporting his argument that the assets were "bought with his own money [and not related to Thuy]." However, he could only provide the court proof of having sent Thuy VND45 billion in dong and $700,000 in dollars.
