Existing factors in the market, especially strong FDI inflow, all are supporting the prosperity of the industrial real estate market. According to JLL Vietnam, five leading industrial real estate markets in the southern region all had high occupancy rates, 81 percent on average in the second quarter of the year. HCM City, Binh Duong and Dong Nai were the three biggest markets. A report of the Ministry of Planning and Investment shows that in H1, the FDI capital in industrial zones and economic zones reached $8.7 billion, while the demand for industrial real estate surged significantly as a result of the US-China trade war. Meanwhile, Foxconn (Taiwan), Lenovo (China), Nintendo, Sharp, Kyocera and Asics (Japan) are considering moving. Hong Kong fund introduces MSCI Vietnam ETF
Premia MSCI Vietnam ETF tracks the MSCI Vietnam Index, which aims to capture leading large and mid-cap Vietnam-based companies that represent 85 percent of market capitalization in Vietnam. The index is dominated by the real estate (45.5 percent) and consumer staples (30.2 percent) sectors and comprises 16 constituents, most notably property developer Vingroup (22.0 percent) and Vinhomes (12.7 percent), and dairy producer Vinamilk (17.8 percent). Compared to other ETFs currently operating in Vietnam’s stock market, Premia MSCI Vietnam ETF remains modest with fund size of USD 21 million. Prudential and JA Vietnam implement Cha-Ching Curriculum across Hanoi
The signing ceremony was held in Hanoi under the witness of the Ministry of Education and Training Based on the globally-recognised and award-winning financial literacy programme Cha-Ching Money Smart Kids, the partnership with JA Vietnam is expected to benefit up to 7,336 children from 31 primary schools in Hanoi in the 2019-2020 academic year and will expand nationwide in the coming years. Building on the success of the Cha-Ching, Prudence Foundation has partnered with Junior Achievement Asia-Pacific in 2016 to develop an enhanced Cha-Ching Curriculum that supports teachers in instilling money-smart skills in students’ daily life.
