Thailand expects 17-20 million travelers during Songkran Festival
Bangkok (VNA) - The Thai government will fully support this year's Songkran Festival , which takes place from April 13-15, with 17 – 20 million people expected to travel around the country next month. According to Government spokesman Anucha Burapachaisri , Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha had ordered state agencies to prepare grand events for the holiday. The expected number of tourist represents a significant increase from the COVID-19 pandemic period. Anucha said the government has launched campaigns to encourage people to enjoy trips and travel during public holidays between now and September under the Tourism Authority of Thailand's "Visit Thailand Year: Amazing New Chapters" scheme and such campaigns as We Travel Together, Wonder Deal and Secret Code 365. Hai Phong ranks among top localities in FDI attraction

As of March 22, the city had lured 385.08 million USD in FDI, equal to 78.89% of the figure in the same period last year, and 17.91% of the yearly plan. To date, industrial and economic parks in Hai Phong have attracted 468 FDI projects totaling 23.3 billion USD, and 202 domestic-invested projects with combined capital of 296.59 trillion VND (12.6 billion USD). An unbelievable story: A telecommunication business developing high-tech defense industry When Viettel started building its airborne warning system, military units of Vietnam were capable of upgrading old-generation radars only. In the world, only eight countries with strong defense industry sectors were able to build the system from scratch then. Overcoming numerous challenges, Viettel successfully manufactured its first complete radar, which was accepted by the Ministry of National Defense and put into mass production in 2014. Subsequently, the company achieved several significant milestones, such as exporting its radar products labeled "Made by Viettel" in 2017 and producing maritime warning radars that meet the standards of advanced countries in 2018. Abandoned tourism projects a blight on Da Nang peninsula
Half-finished villas sit unfinished along Trem Beach on the Son Tra Peninsula. The area is a major tourist attraction for Da Nang. Work started on the project in 2004. The area covers 14 hectares of land and 20 hectares of water with a beach stretching 1.3 kilometers. Costing US$20 million at the time of groundbreaking, the project was comprised of 22 villas and a five-star hotel rising 18 floors as well as sports and entertainment facilities. The project was stopped halfway after the Government Inspectorate found that Da Nang authorities had committed a series of violations in setting land prices and transferring land plots to the investor.
