On December 26th, on the coast of Halong Bay, Vietnam's tourism sector greeted the six-millionth international tourist this year, marking a significant milestone in the growth of the sector. SuperStar Aquarius which belongs to Star Cruise Firm is 229.8 meters in length, 28.5 meter in width. The maritime cruise ship has the loading capacity of 51,309 tonnes and the maximum capacity of 2,100 tourists and 700 crew. Star Cruise is one of 45 international travel agencies taking tourists to Vietnam and was honoured by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism on December 2nd . On December 26th, the Vietnam National Tourism Administration greeted the six-millionth international tourists to Vietnam in 2011 at Ha Long City in the northern province of Quang Ninh. The six-millionth international tourist was Mr. Curvalle Bernard Francois from France. He visited Vietnam for the first time with his family on the Hainan - Halong Bay - Hue route. He made his voyage to Ha Long City on high-end cruise ship SuperStar Aquarius with more than 1,000 tourists and crew. The tour was organised by the Saigon Travel and Service Company (Saigontourist). The lucky tourist was presented a two-day tour to Hoi An, My Son and Danang for two people. On January 2, the ship 'Seabourne Pride' from the Bahamas, carrying 200 European and Asian tourists docked at Tien Sa Port bringing in the first international visitors of 2013 to the central city of Da Nang. Visitors were guided by tour agents to visit the ancient capital of Hue in Thua Thien-Hue Province, the ancient town of Hoi An in Quang Nam Province, Cham Sculpture Museum and Ngu Hanh Son in Da Nang City. The Da Nang Tourism Department said that under the plan, in the first quarter of 2013, Tien Sa Port will receive 48 cruise ships with more than 44,500 tourists. The tourists will visit and enjoy various beauty spots and historical relic sites in the central provinces. In 2012, the total number of visitors to Da Nang amounted to 2.7 million, an increase of 12 percent compared to 2011, with revenues touching VND6,000 billion.
