Vietnamese UN peacekeeping doctors organize spring festival in South Sudan
Vietnam’s level-2 field hospital No. 4 under the United Nations peacekeeping mission in South Sudan held the first-ever spring festival to celebrate the 2023 Lunar New Year with several activities to introduce the Vietnamese holiday to international friends on Saturday night. The festival featured a kite festival, a competition for Tet decorations and cooking skills, a buffet party, and a campfire. This is the first time a Vietnamese hospital's spring festival has been held during a UN peacekeeping mission in South Sudan. Hiroko Hirahara, head of the UN Mission Field Office in South Sudan, and Brigadier General Mike Cooper Mujuni, Commander of Unity Military Region, joined the festival. 40,000 pilgrims arrive for opening day of Huong Pagoda Festival
The Yen Stream near Tro Port was full of boats taking pilgrims to the pagoda in My Duc District. Around 5,000 boats were arranged for pilgrims. The management of the Huong Son Site, of which the pagoda is a part, said the site is open for tourists from Saturday last week and around 150,000 have arrived since. Nguyen Ba Hien, head of the management, said: "Electronic tickets are the new feature at this year's festival. 10 gates have been installed for the electronic tickets. The system scanned the tickets' QR codes, and it worked smoothly on the first day. There were no sign of fake tickets." At 9 a.m., the opening ceremony was held. Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival scheduled to kick off in March
The eighth edition of the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival is set to be held in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak from March 10 to March 14, as announced on January 30 by the provincial People’s Committee. The event will open with the theme of “Dak Lak – A destination of world coffee” and aims to promote the brand of Buon Ma Thuot coffee and develop Vietnamese specialty coffee. ‘Chi Chi Em Em 2’ to compete in Osaka Asian Film Festival
It will be screened with 14 other films in the "Spotlight" category at the festival slated for March 10-19. It will compete in three categories: ABC TV Award from one of the oldest and most famous television channels in Japan for best new film, Yakushi Pearl Award for best actor, and Audience Award for best film as voted by audiences. "Sister Sister 2" revolves around the battle for the title of "beauty queen of Saigon" between Ba Tra and Tu Nhi. As of Jan. 31 the movie, still running in cinemas across Vietnam, had earned more than VND65 billion (US$2.8 million). The festival has attracted 48 movies from 15 countries and territories, 13 of which will have global premieres. “Spring Market” Festival in South Sudan attracts international visitors
The event was held by the Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 4 with various activities with the aim to bring Tet (lunar New Year) atmosphere to troops who are carrying out missions far from home and introduce cultural beauty of Vietnams during the lunar New Year to international friends and colleagues at U.N. Mission in South Sudan. Head of the mission's Bentiu Front Base Hiroko Hirahara; Commanding Officer of the Mission Lieutenant General Mike Cooper; and representatives of departments, divisions, agencies; and commanding officers of units stationed in the area attended the event. Hanoi to host 3rd Int’l Experimental Theater Festival next month
Around 60 plays by artists from over 20 countries have registered to take part in the 3 rd International Experimental Theater Festival, which will be held from November 12-19 in Hanoi. Duong Lam promotes unique features to international visitors

Customs clearance suspended 7 days at border gates during Tet festival

Meanwhile, the Bac Luan Bridge I border gate which is specialised for entry and exit procedures in Quang Ninh province will maintain working as usual throughout the Tet holidays.
