The 4,000sqm expo will comprise 120 booths, displaying products in hardware and machinery, textiles and inputs, interior and exterior furniture, electronics and household appliances. The three-day event is hosted by the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province, co-organised by Zhejiang Yuanda International Exhibition Co Ltd and the Việt Nam National Trade Fair and Advertising Company (VINEXAD). Cao Bang opens an exhibition on Hoang Sa , Truong Sa, Semptember 22 (Photo: VNA) Cao Bang (VNA) – An exhibition on historical and legal evidence proving Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) opened in the northern mountainous province of Cao Bang on September 22. On display are 80 maps and documents affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa issued by the Vietnamese feudal states from the 17th century to the 20th century. Number of international tourists to Vietnam bounces back
According to the Ministry of Culture , Sports and Tourism , since the beginning of this year, the sector has welcomed 8 million international arrivals, reaching the set target. The county expects to receive about 12 million foreign visitors this year. Meanwhile, many travel agencies reported good business results. Tour operator Vietravel revealed that in the first eight months of 2023, the company completed up to 80% of its plan on welcoming international tourists , including those from the EU and the Republic of Korea (RoK). Hanoitourist Corporation said it has received many orders from previous months for this year’s peak season. ACB and DHL Express cooperate to reduce carbon emissions in international express delivery
ACB and DHL at the signing ceremony. — Photo courtesy of DHL Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ACB) has become the first bank in Việt Nam that has signed a contract to use DHL's GoGreen Plus service to reduce carbon emissions for their international delivery shipments through the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). By applying GoGreen Plus Service, the bank estimates it can reduce up to 14 tonnes of CO2 emissions a year. The emission reduction process is certified annually by a third independent company – Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS). In addition, an additional carbon footprint report will be updated monthly that will detail ACB's total emissions in partnership with DHL Express. For Thien, the official visit to Vietnam by U.S. President Joe Biden earlier this month was not only an important event between Vietnam and the U.S., but a memorable milestone in his life. At the National Assembly Building on September 11, Thien received his war diary lost during a battle in Tay Ninh that borders HCMC in 1967, as witnessed by Biden and National Assembly chairman Vuong Dinh Hue. "I couldn’t have imagined ever receiving my lost diary from the war around 60 years ago. It was truly surprising and moving. For me, it was an invaluable relic," said Thien, 75. Thien was born in northern Thai Binh Province and joined the army in 1965, at the age of 17. He brought with him a diary to recount what happened during his march into the southeastern Vietnam battlefield.
