A conference for experts from Germany and Vietnam to analyze and discuss the potential of Vietnam’s just energy for local economic and labor growth took place in Hanoi on Wednesday. The “Just Energy Transition = Job Accelerator for Vietnam? EU to offer 5 support tools to Vietnam, address IUU fishing warning soon: new ambassador
The European Union (EU) will apply five assistance tools to Vietnam’s multifaceted development plan, as well as rapidly resolve its Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) fishing ‘yellow card’ warning against the Southeast Asian country, the new EU ambassador to Vietnam recently announced. Ambassador Julien Guerrier was speaking at his first media meeting in Hanoi on Wednesday, one day after taking office and presenting his letter of credentials to Vietnamese State President Vo Van Thuong. Vietnam is an important EU partner in its Indo-Pacific strategy and the EU is one of Vietnam’s most reliable and long-standing friends and partners, Guerrier affirmed. The plan will provide a list of priority projects for implementation in the 2024 - 2030 period along with a set of project selection criteria and necessary policy actions. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has coordinated with relevant ministries and agencies to consult the Prime Minister, head of the COP26 Steering Committee, on establishing a secretariat to implement the Political Declaration , and JETP implementation support groups. Ngo Chung Khanh, Deputy Director of the Multilateral Trade Policy Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), said Vietnam has enjoyed stable growth in its exports to Canada and Mexico since the CPTPP agreement took effect in January 2019, even during the COVID-19 pandemic or amidst geopolitical fluctuations in the world.
