Vietnam to spend VND21 trillion on industrial park infrastructure
Nearly VND21 trillion (US$924 million) will be invested in the development of infrastructure for economic zones and industrial parks in Vietnam as part of a plan recently approved by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. The move is expected to make Vietnam's economic zones more attractive to investors The plan is designed to improve the local infrastructure in order to attract more investment into these zones by 2020. Specifically, Vietnam aims to complete 200-250 kilometers of roads and wastewater treatment facilities with a daily capacity of 13,000-14,000 cubic meters in 16 coastal economic zones, with a further 200-250 kilometres of roads and wastewater treatment capacity of 300-400 cubic meters a day for 21 border economic zones. Amata Group’s dream about developing the VND3.5-trillion ($153.56 million) Song Khoai Industrial Park in the northern province of Quang Ninh came closer to reality after the Thai investor received the investment certificate. Amata Group receives $153.56 million industrial park project in Quang Ninh On March 30, the Quang Ninh People’s Committee granted the investment certificate to Amata Group to build Song Khoai Industrial Park located in Quang Yen town. The project marks the first IP invested by Thai investors and the fourth by foreign investors in the province since 2014. Viglacera starts power project construction at industrial park

Viglacera has partnered with the Northern Power Corporation to begin installing electricity lines and a 110/35/22kV transformer station to ensure stable power supply at the industrial park and reduceload on the 110kV DongVan transformer station. The investment capital was not disclosed. The firm also commenced work on a wastewater treatment plant with a total investment of VND24 billion (US$1.05 million).
