Eco-industrial park development targets net zero emissions

However, there are still many problems with the mechanism. Durian exports jump 6-fold
Most other fruit exports saw double-digit growth, though banana and dragon fruit saw declines, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade. With durian entering the harvest season, some 700 trucks, many carrying the fruit, were stuck at the Vietnam-China border last week, and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had to step in and order officials to clear the congestion on May 31. Vietnam now has 293 durian farming areas and 115 packaging facilities approved for exports to China. The two countries signed a protocol last year for export of fresh durian. Mangosteen and banana have also been approved for exports through official channels to China. Garment and textile sector hardest hit in layoff wave
The domestic garment and textile sector has been hardest hit in the on-going wave of layoffs due to the economic downturn, according to the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLisa) report. The Molisa report showed that in the first half of this year, a total of 510,000 people had their job affected. Among those, 280,000 stopped working or were fired, mostly in industrial parks and economic zones in Binh Duong, Dong Nai, HCM City, Bac Ninh, Hai Duong and Hanoi. Roughly 195,039 workers had their working hours cut during the first half of the year. Up to 8,644 companies had to cut their workforce due to the order shortage. The garment and textile industry were hardest hit as up to 68,782 workers stopped their job or were fired. Meanwhile, 66,600 others in this sector had their working hours reduced. Indian government protects aircraft fleets from unscrupulous lessors
In India, the world's third-largest aviation market, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government recently decided not to allow lessors and vulture funds to withdraw aircraft, request de-registration and force the export of aircraft. According to Cirium, a data and advanced analytics solutions provider for the aviation industry, India is one of the world's top large aircraft leasing markets. Up to 75 per cent of aircraft were delivered to India in the form of sales and lease back contracts between 2018 and 2022, much higher than the world average of 35 per cent. The move by the Indian government comes after Go First Airlines filed for bankruptcy protection, shutting down on May 3. Lessors had requested to deregister and withdraw 54 aircraft from Go First Airlines.
