Facebook launches #SheForVietnam programme to empower Vietnamese women

A poster of #SheForVietnam, a facebook's programme for Vietnamese women.  — Photo Facebook HÀ NỘI — Facebook will launch #SheForVietnam - a programme for Vietnamese women who are creating miracles every day on social networks on March 6 in efforts to affirm its commitment to supporting Vietnamese women in the digital era. #SheForVietnam is designed to connect and inspire women's communities, encourage and empower them to dream big and live life to the fullest. The programme’s first pillar - #SheInspires is an online roundtable to honour and inspire women that stand up to help others and spread positive energy. There will be some popular faces in the event, those represent millions of other Vietnamese women creating magic every day thanks to the power of social networks: singer Thủy Tiên, Miss Universe Vietnam H'Hen Niê, actress Sam, social activist Chung Vũ Thanh Uyên - Mina Chung, CEO of Ru9 Company Limited Đặng Thùy Trang, Founder - CEO of the Women's Initiative for Startups and Entrepreneurship (WISE) Từ Thu Hiền and Nam Nguyễn, Entertainment Partnership Lead, Vietnam, Facebook. “In Việt Nam, women contributed 62 per cent of the total amount fundraised on Facebook in 2020. We have seen the positive impact that women have been able to create in their communities by sharing their voices across our platform, which becomes our motivation to continue our commitment to support women in Việt Nam. We hope #SheForVietnam can empower Vietnamese women to pursue their dreams and improve their life’s value, making more impact for the community,” said Nam Nguyen, Entertainment Partnership Lead, Vietnam, Facebook. Vietnamese products on show at India’s engineering, technology fair

Among Vietnamese exhibitors, the Rang Dong Light Source & Vacuum Flask JSC showcases fishing lights and vacuum flasks. The THACO Chu Lai Mechanical Complex Co. Ltd introduces products of precision mechanics and automobile and motorbike spare parts. Meanwhile, the Son Ha Group, with about 30 percent of its export revenue coming from India, displays water heaters, water tanks, and stainless steel pipes. The IETF, held biennially since 1975 by the Confederation of Indian Industry, is a leading exhibition for technology, machinery, equipment, electronics, mechanics, and electrical devices. This year’s event features the most advanced machinery and technologies in such areas as environment and water and air pollution control, logistics solutions, metallurgical technology, infrastructure and property construction technology, smart building, automation, and 3D printing and related technologies. Fairs on artificial intelligence, health and medical technology, mobile solutions, and game technology also are also taking place on the sidelines of IETF 2021. Joining major businesses of India are a large number of firms from many countries, including the Netherlands, Germany, Romania, Bulgaria, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, and Vietnam. Volunteers sought for second locally made COVID-19 vaccine trials

In the first phase,150 healthy volunteers will be injected with two 5ml doses over 28 days. They will be divided into five groups, including one group provided with placebo shots, and their health will be closely monitored within 24 hours after injections. Each volunteer will have their health checked up to eight times in 12 months. After 43 days since the first phase starts and shows good results, the second phase will be carried out at the medical centre of Thái Bình Province’s Vũ Thư District, with 300 volunteers. The homegrown vaccine has been developed by the Nha Trang-based Institute of Vaccines and Medical Biologicals (IVAC) and the Hà Nội Medical University since last May, using primary chicken embryo cell culture, a technique the institute used previously to successfully produce seasonal flu vaccines. COVIVAC has undergone pre-clinical trials in India, the US, and Việt Nam, said IVAC Director Dr. Dương Hữu Thái, adding that results showed that it satisfies all conditions to be tested on humans. The vaccine candidate demonstrated high immunogenicity during pre-clinical trials. It was created based on studies of new SARS-CoV-2 strains.
