I was thinking about the time when Japanese fans of the 2022 World Cup cleaned up the field after every game. By contrast, it is not difficult to encounter bad behaviors from certain Vietnamese people these days. These include spitting, littering, pushing and shoving, trespassing, breaking traffic laws, allowing pets to defecate in public, smoking and even swearing and fighting in public. These actions have tarnished the Vietnamese reputation abroad and have had far-reaching negative effects on health, safety, the environment, and many other things. Moreover, there are numerous pressing problems that need immediate attention, including workplace safety, fire prevention, pollution, food safety, and so on. German Consulate General, VCF donate medical equipment to health center in central Vietnam
The German Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and VinaCapital Foundation (VCF) presented nine medical equipment to a health center in Vietnam’s central Quang Ngai Province on Friday. These equipment are essential for taking care of the health of newborn babies and their mothers, Chau Nguyen Thuong, director of the Son Tay District Health Center, said at the presentation ceremony on the same day. They include one continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine, two jaundice lamps; one electric infusion pump, one neonatal heating bed, one patient monitor with five parameters, and three endotracheal intubation sets. In late October last year, the Consulate General sent specialists to the health center to provide intensive training for local doctors in neonatal resuscitation and emergency care so that they can effectively use the donated equipment. On this occasion, Naomi Kitahara, UNFPA Representative for Vietnam, grants Vietnam Law & Legal Forum magazine an interview on the results Vietnam has achieved in civil status work as well as things that should be done in the future for fulfilling the country’s set goals. The Civil Status Law was passed by the 13th National Assembly in 2014 and enacted on January 1, 2016. This was the first time Vietnamese legislators had issued a separate law to govern civil status work. One year after the promulgation of the law, the Prime Minister approved the National Action Program on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics for the 2017-2024 period.
