Vietnam Airlines restarts air services between Hanoi and Beijing
Vietnam’s national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has resumed its regular flights linking Hanoi and Beijing after a three-year pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The airline’s flight VN513 departed from Beijing at 3:30 pm and landed in Hanoi at 5.55 pm on Sunday. Before the resumption of the Beijing-Hanoi flight, Vietnam Airlines held a welcoming ceremony for the passengers on board at Beijing International Airport, with the participation of Vietnam and China's competent agencies and enterprises and over 100 passengers. The air carrier is operating the Hanoi-Beijing air route with a frequency of three round-trip flights a week. Ministry urges prevention of Marburg virus from entering Vietnam
The Ministry of Health has asked the People's Committees of cities and provinces nationwide, the Pasteur Institutes and hygiene and epidemiology institutes to strengthen prevention and control of the Marburg virus disease. Illustrative image (Photo: Internet) The Marburg virus causes an acute infectious disease, which naturally resides in fruit-eating bats (Rousettus aegyptiacus). The disease is transmitted from animals (bats, primates) to humans, or from person to person through direct contact with bodily fluids, or with environments/objects contaminated by the bodily fluids of a person infected or deceased from the Marburg virus. The incubation period of the disease ranges from 2 to 21 days. Patients initially show signs of high fever, headache, discomfort, followed by diarrhea, abdominal pain, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, and bleeding. Heatwave to hit north-central, northern Vietnam this week
A heatwave is forecast to hit north-central Vietnamese provinces starting Tuesday before expanding to northern localities. The heatwave will affect the localities from Thanh Hoa Province to Thua Thien-Hue Province from Tuesday to Saturday, according to the National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting. The highest temperatures will be around 35-37 degrees Celsius during this period. Humidity will be quite low, about 35-50 percent. The weather pattern poses a high risk of fires and explosions in residential areas as well as bushfires. It can also cause dehydration, exhaustion, and heatstroke when people are exposed to high temperatures for a long time.
