(Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – A three-month social media campaign against smoking was launched by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Vietnam in partnership with key tobacco control partners in Hanoi on September 27. Themed “#Respect,” the campaign aims to promote a smoke-free environment to protect and improve public health. It calls on everyone, smokers and non-smokers, to respect the law on tobacco control and respect their and others’ health by ending indoor smoking at public spaces to prevent exposure to second-hand smoke. The hashtag #Respect was created to help people spread anti-smoking messages on social networks and the public is encouraged to support the campaign by sharing posts, making supportive comments and creating tobacco-related stories with the hashtag. How to develop social media strategy
Companies in Vietnam have experienced fierce competition over the last few years, both qualitative and quantitative. Many have been forced to close down while others are still in business but struggling to move forward. The question is how to make a brand not only sustainable but also grow in value in the context of fierce global competition and rapid digitalization. Authorities order demolition of building Authorities in Ha Noi's Ba Dinh District yesterday sent forces to demolish the 8B Le Truc building's illegally constructed floors after a report criticised slow demolition work from the building's developer. Dozens of workers using concrete demolition machines started to destroy the 19th floor of the building under the observation of representatives from administration, local construction inspectorate of Dien Bien Ward and the developer. Tran Manh Quan, Chairman of People's Committee of Dien Bien Ward where the building is located, said the demolition was undertaken after a decision by the Ba Dinh District People's Committee in early January 2016 to implement punishment for violations in the construction process. The ward asked the building's developer, Le Truc Garment Joint Stocks Company, to co-operate with demolition forces, said Quan. It also asked the developer to pay for all demolition costs, he added. Quang Ninh welcomes nearly 2 million visitors The northern province of Quang Ninh received nearly 2 million visitors in the first two months of the year, up three per cent from the same period last year with international visitor numbers increasing by 10 per cent, according to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Spiritual relics like Yen Tu Buddhist relic, Ba Vang Pagoda, Cua Ong Temple, and Cai Bau Pagoda attracted the most visitors, it said. The province's localities have organised art performances and sports and traditional games for visitors. The province reported that revenues from tourism in the period are estimated at more than VND1.2 trillion (US$53.7 million), a year-on year increase of 14 per cent.
