The event, the theme of which highlights concerted mechanisation towards sustainable agriculture, is scheduled to take place in Can Tho on August 24-26. Le Quoc Thanh, Director of the National Agricultural Extension Centre (NAEC), said the field demonstrations at the Cuu Long Delta Rice Research Institute are a different feature of this edition in Vietnam. Approximately 100 tonnes of Vietnam’s ST25 rice has hit the shelves of Japanese supermarket chain in order to serve both Japanese consumers and Vietnamese nationals residing and studying in the Far East country. The competition, part of the Taste of Australia event, was organised by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) and supported by Vietnam’s Graduates from Australia Club (VGAC). It had two rounds – an online one held from May 12-June 4; and a final round held on June 25 in Ho Chi Minh City. All contestants registered for the online round submitted video clips with two cups with two different patterns from four subjects - Heart, Tulip, Rosetta and Swan.
