Dong Ho Ballet to debut in Hanoi this month
For the first time, Vietnam's famous Dong Ho folk paintings are appreciated in a new language: ballet. The ballet titled "Dong Ho", inspired by the famous Vietnamese folk painting will be performed on the evening of March 22 and 23 at the Hanoi Opera House, according to Vietnam National Opera & Ballet. The poster of the Ballet "Dong Ho" The ballet will be directed and staged by overseas Vietnamese choreographer Nguyen Ngoc Anh. Dong Ho folk painting is considered a cultural icon of Vietnam. Le Collier (The Necklace), carrying an estimate of 2,500,000 – 4,000,000 HKD (320,000 - 511,000 USD), was formerly in the private collection of Federico Möller de Berg (1899-1991), a renowned Uruguayan sculptor who acquired it directly from Thu in 1948 – the year the two artists first met in Paris.
