Shanghai announced a gradual reopening from Monday of businesses, though it remains unclear when the millions of people still locked down in China's economic capital will finally be allowed out of their homes. Fine dining at Le Beaulieu
FLAMING GOOD: The waitress cooks the lobster bisque at the table. VNS Photos Mỹ Hà by Mỹ Trang It was a special occasion, and we all wanted to celebrate it at Le Beaulieu. The usual restaurant has been under renovation for a while and we could not have a table looking out onto the street, instead, its temporary location had been moved further inside Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, which has a cosy interior. It's always a pleasure to look at the menu, carefully crafted with dishes that have ingredients in season, varied, but not too many that it blows your mind. Nevertheless, it is hard to nail one dish down. If you go to a Vietnamese restaurant, its menu can last for pages, and you leaf from beginning to end, perplexed among so many dishes cooked in so many different ways, and you end up picking a few things and you are not sure you made a good choice. It's different at Le Beaulieu where you see familiar dishes that you know are delicious. You are also open to exploring new … [Read more...] about Fine dining at Le Beaulieu

He first goes out for a five-kilometer jog, returns home to work for an hour or two and then has some spare time before resuming work in the afternoon. Though his days are productive, for the 30-year-old software engineer in HCMC, working remotely for U.S.-based software company Acumatica gives him much greater flexibility than a traditional office job. "The only difficulty is the different time zones," Dang, who has been working for Acumatica for four years as a regional product engineer, says. Will international stress disrupt Vietnam’s economic recovery?
Patrick Lenain-Former assistant director Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development Pressures on global supply chains are also a key headwind in the recovery. Supply chain disruptions are not new: health precautions imposed over the last two years have already caused major bottlenecks. Major shipping hubs such as Los Angeles and Shanghai have operated with reduced capacity, with long waiting times to get shipments processed across the borders. With the pandemic fading away, congestion in international supply chains has eased a bit since December 2021. In the United States, government agencies have worked with shippers, retailers, and port authorities to speed up the movement of goods. For instance, ships waiting to unload containers in US ports have declined by 35 per cent, thanks to 24/7 operations and large recruitment of workers. However, the lack of US truck drivers has emerged as a new problem. Action was taken to hire 30,000 additional truck drivers, … [Read more...] about Will international stress disrupt Vietnam’s economic recovery?

Le Mai Huong, an enthusiastic online shopper in Ha Noi, shared her bad experience when shopping online with Viet Nam News. “In my experience, shoppers should not buy online stuff sold at prices far lower than market prices, notably cosmetics and drugs, as they are almost fake products.
