Apartment prices in Hanoi are at a record high
The supply of budget apartments in Hanoi stood at the lowest level in the past five years. U.N. Women, Japan launch project to reduce COVID-19 impacts on women and girls
The project aims to support about 5,000 poor and vulnerable women in nine provinces and cities, including Hanoi, Da Nang, Dien Bien, Ha Tinh, Ho Chi Minh City, Tien Giang, Nghe An, Thai Binh and Lao Cai. The priority targets are women at risk of violence, those with disabilities, migrant workers, ethnic minorities, people working in the informal sector and those living in disaster-prone areas. Apart from receiving the COVID-19 prevention kits, which include test kits, medical masks and anti-bacteria gel, the beneficiaries will also be equipped with the necessary skills to prevent and respond to COVID-19, disasters, gender-based violence and information about the available support services. UN Women, Japan join hands to mitigate Covid-19 impact on Vietnamese women
Evidence over the past year confirmed that the pandemic had a regressive effect on gender equality. As many as 5,000 poor and vulnerable women in Vietnam would benefit from a one-year project against the Covid-19 impact launched on August 2 by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) and the Government of Japan. Vietnam using autonomy mechanism to revolutionize universities

(Photo: SGGP) Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son reported that with the implementation of Resolution No. 77/NQ-CP on piloting renovation of operation mechanism for public higher education institutions from 2014-2017, higher educational facilities have made great strides in opening up resources and the capacity of training institutions has been maximized. Currently, 142/232 universities are eligible for autonomy according to the provisions of the revised Higher Education Law. Thanks to this autonomy mechanism, piloting universities can attract more capable lecturers and researchers, with the percentage of those owning a doctorate degree reaching 31 percent in 2021. In the four years from 2018, the average salary of employees in these universities rose by 18.7-20.8 percent. Foreign minister meets with foreign counterparts on AMM-55 sidelines
At the meeting between FM Son and his Japanese counterpart Yoshimasa Hayashi, both officials agreed to exchange information, experience in issues of mutual concern, including maintenance of peace, stability, and cooperation in the region. Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son attends 29th ARF in Phnom Penh
Participants affirmed the ARF is the most important forum of ASEAN to promote dialogue and mutual understanding. They reviewed the operation and proposed development orientations of the forum in the time to come. The attending foreign ministers welcomed the implementation of trust-building activities and preventive diplomacy, through which trust was enhanced and cooperation expanded.
