(VEN) - During the last few years, provinces in the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta have focused on developing its high technological industry. Localities have taken active part in attracting investment and establishing high tech agricultural models and centers. Pham Van Quynh, the director of the Can Tho Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said, high-tech agricultural development is among two key programs of the city's agricultural development strategy in the period of 2011-2020. Accordingly, some VND4 trillion will be invested in this program. The program is aimed at turning the city of Can Tho into a high-tech center in the Cuu Long Delta. Hi-tech Agriculture Development Takes Gradual Steps
(VEN) - On January 29, 2010, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung issued Decision 176/QD-TTg approving a plan for hi-tech agriculture development to 2020, aimed at creating breakthroughs in production and modernizing Vietnamese agriculture. However, more than two years after the decision took effect, there have been only three certified hi-tech agriculture businesses throughout the country.
