Nguyen Thi Oanh, one of Vietnam’s most elite professional athletes, has overcome both mental and physical obstacles to rise to the top of the Vietnamese sporting scene. Oanh made history at the 32nd Southteast Asian (SEA) Games on May 9 when she became the first athlete to secure gold medals in both the 1,500m and 3,000m women’s hurdling events. Just three days later, Oanh found herself once again atop the podium when she brought home another gold medal in the women’s 10,000-meter race. She claimed a total of four gold medals at the 32nd SEA Games, hosted by Cambodia from May 5 to May 17. Oanh, affectionately known in the Southeast Asian running scene as the 'runner without lungs,' is one of the most decorated athletes in the history of the event. Oil paintings showcase Ho Chi Minh City lifestyle
Artist Ngo Dong drew the scenes in the early morning in 2020 at Tao Dan Park, District 1. This is one among over 80 works by the artist displayed at the “Hien Thuc Da Chieu” (Multi-dimensional Reality) exhibition at the HCMC Museum of Fine Arts on May 20-30. The majority of the paintings are about life in the southern city where the artist has lived for more than 40 years. His painting “Nang Mai Trong Pho” (Early Sunlight On The Streets) was drawn in 2020. After realizing that his life has become more beautiful and tranquil 15 years ago, he switched from his initial style of surrealism to realism. “I threw all of my surrealist paintings away, except for those that were sold. I find myself best expressed through realism inspired by real lives,” he said. 1,389 nominations for Vinfuture Prize’s third season
The VinFuture Prize consists of four prestigious awards presented each year (Source: Vingroup) Hanoi (VNA) – A total of 1,389 nominations for the 2023 VinFuture Prize were submitted via the nomination portal for the third award season that officially concluded on May 15. The number of nominating partners has more than quadrupled compared to the first-year Prize; and 20% of this year's nominating partners are among the world's top 2% most-cited researchers. The 2023 VinFuture Prize's nominations come from respected scientists and organisations from 90 countries and territories across six continents. Leading in the number of nominators are scientists from the Americas with 30.3%, followed by Asia (28.6%), Africa (9.5%), and Oceania (6.8%). Portuguese club to extend contract with Vietnamese striker

Following Nhu’s impressive performance, Lank are negotiating to extend her contract. Lank allowed Nhu to attend the SEA Games 32 in Cambodia this month and she helped her squad win the gold medal for the fourth consecutive season. After the tournament, Nhu did not return to Lank but is continuing to train with the national team to prepare for the Women’s World Cup in July. Rumors of Nhu parting ways with Lank then began circulating. In the last minutes of the session, it suddenly ballooned on the back of a short-lived buying force but the buy-in was not large enough to lift it above the reference line. VN-Index ended the session at 1,065.85 points, down 4.79 points (0.45 per cent) compared to the previous session. HOSE-listed decliners outnumbered advancers by 212 to 128, with four stocks hitting ceiling prices and five at rock bottom.
