The Ministry of Education and Training is planning to introduce traditional sports, including the Vietnamese martial art, Vovinam, into schools, said Mr Ngu Duy Anh, Head of the Department of Students' Affairs under the Ministry. According to Mr Ngu Duy Anh, Vovinam has become increasingly popular in the world and expected to be one of the events at the Phu Dong National Sports Festival 2012. With an aim to improve health for pupils in schools and maintain the traditional martial art, the Ministry of Education and Training instructed provincial departments of education and training to work with the Vietnam Vovinam Federation to carry out the program. Nawaplastic still hungry for Binh Minh Plastic shares Owning a dominant stake in Binh Minh Plastic (BMP) did not quench Nawaplastic Industry Co., Ltd. (Nawaplastic)’s thirst for BMP shares. Most recently, Nawaplastic registered to buy an additional 1.17 million BMP shares to increase its holding to 44.525 million shares, equalling 54.39 per cent of the charter capital. The transaction is expected to occur between June18 and July16. The registered share volume is the remaining part of the 2.86 million shares that Nawaplastic failed to buy during previous transactions. Notably, Nawaplastic registered to buy 2.86 million BMP shares during transactions on May 14-June 12, however, the Thai investor ended up buying 1.69 million of the registered shares as BMP did not match Nawaplastic’s target price. 10 mil school children in Vietnam receive dental care: Minister The oral health care program for school children in Vietnam has been quite successful with nearly 10 million children receiving dental care, said the Health Minister at a conference in Hanoi from November 9-11. Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien was speaking at the 6th Asian Conference for Oral Health Promotion for School Children in Hanoi. She said that the dental care program had been implemented in communes across the country and presently nearly 10 million children were receiving dental care. The national health policy lays great emphasis on oral health care amongst school children, however there are constant challenges and difficulties in implementation, said Minister Tien.
