Viettel Post opens automatic logistics centre in HCM City
Hanoi (VNA) - The Viettel Posts Joint Stock Corporation (Viettel Post) has opened an automatic logistics centre at District No.12, Ho Chi Minh City. The event marked a new development of Viettel Post in shifting from a post and delivery corporation to a logistics one, in an effort to become a leading technology-based logistics enterprise in Vietnam by 2025, the Quan doi Nhan dan (People’s Army) newspaper reported. Addressing the event, Director of Viettel Post Tran Trung Hung informed that in Vietnam, foreign logistics enterprises are currently controlling 80 percent of the market share. Myanmar earns over 2 bln USD from industrial exports
Hanoi (VNA) - Myanmar earned over 2.02 billion USD from the export of finished industrial goods over the first three months of the present fiscal year (FY) 2020-2021 which started in October. As of January 15, the finished industrial goods or manufacturing goods sector topped the list with the most export value, followed by agriculture and mineral sectors among others, Xinhua news agency quoted Myanmar’s Commerce Industry as saying. This year FY's figures decreased by over 1.03 billion USD, compared to the same period of FY 2019-2020 when it registered over 3.05 billion USD. During the period, the country's export totaled over 4.3 billion USD while its import shared over 4.56 billion USD, resulting in a trade surplus of 230 million USD. Demand for imported high-value seafood rises
HCM City (VNS/VNA) - Vietnam’s imports of high-value seafood such as king crabs and lobsters are rising due to their falling prices, and are expected to rise even further during the Lunar New Year (Tet) Festival, experts have said. Robert Greenan, Deputy Consul General at the US Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, said last year exports of Alaskan seafood rose 125 percent to 19 million USD. Vietnam became the US’s sixth largest buyer of agricultural products and foodstuffs with imports worth 4 billion USD. According to the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute in Vietnam, demand for seafood is rising in the country, and several processing factories are moving from China to Vietnam due to tariffs.
