The price of flowers and fruits for the July full moon day, which falls on August 12 sharply increased, much higher than on previous days at some traditional markets of Hanoi. Local consumers are buying flowers on the morning of August 11 - the former day of the July full moon day. According to a small trader at Thanh Xuan Bac wet market, the price of daisy flowers is high this year due to the hot weather, and the number of daisies in Hanoi growing areas has decreased. EICI is set up through the project on establishing and operating an expanded infection control and investigation unit at the Hue Central Hospital, which has a total budget of nearly 3.4 billion VND (145,300 USD) and is implemented from May 2022 to May 2024. Mai Phan Loi at court (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – The High-Level People’s Court of Hanoi has reduced the prison sentence handed down to Mai Phan Loi , Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Centre for Media in Educating Community (MEC), by three months in an appeal trial on August 11. Accordingly, Loi will spend 45 months in prison for tax evasion instead of 48 months in the first-instance verdict. His accomplice Bach Hung Duong, MEC Director, also received a revised sentence of 27 months, down from 30 months. MEC was founded in 2012 under a decision by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations. It is funded mostly by grants and donations from domestic and foreign organisations. Hanoians lay flowers in memory of deceased firefighters
In the past few days, many Hanoians have come to the People's Police Monument to lay flowers in memory of the three firefighters who died in the line of duty to save others. Many Hanoians have brought bouquets of flowers to lay at the foot of the People's Police Monument on Tran Nhan Tong Street in Hanoi to commemorate three firefighters who lost their lives after saving eight people and attempting to control the fire at a six-storey karaoke lounge in the city’s urban district of Cau Giay.
