Car rental services in Hanoi faces low demand
According to the providers, rental charges this year have dropped to VND500,000 (USD21.5) from VND2m a day while in previous years, the prices usually went up. They still have customers who have already booked for the 23rd to 30th lunar December but the number has dropped significantly. In previous years, customers had to book cars before the New Year. Pham Viet Manh, a provider in Bac Tu Liem District, said, "Families who want to return to their hometowns for Tet often rent cars. Hanoi (VNA) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on January 22 called upon border guards to increase efforts to effectively prevent illegal exit and entry, helping to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. During a meeting with border guards ahead of the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday, the PM said the border force must raise its readiness for combatting illegal crossings and responding to natural disasters. Communications work also needs to be stepped up so that fishermen will not violate fishing regulations, he said, stressing the significance of external affairs in border areas.
