The seven-day book fair, with the theme “Magical Things from Books”, will take place on Nguyen Hue, Mac Thi Buoi, and Ngo Duc Ke streets, according to the city government’s news website. Ministry organizes seminar to discuss e-learning policies
The seminar titled “Training reality of e-learning education in Vietnam, trend in the world, and factors helping e-learning education development” was a part of the national-level project “ Researching learning methodologies based on e-learning in Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs): World’s experience and applications in Vietnam”. Speeches about trends of e-learning education in the world and lessons learnt by Vietnam’s educational facilities, reality of e-learning application in Vietnam, advantages and challenges of e-learning education and policies on e-learning development in Vietnam presently were delivered at the seminar. Court rules painter Lê Linh owns rights to comic characters

File PhotoViet Nam News HÀ NỘI — The District 1 Court in HCM City has ruled that painter Lê Phong Linh (pen name Lê Linh) is to be the only author of popular comic series Thần Đồng Đất Việt (Vietnamese Land’s Prodigy). The series features the history, culture and traditions of Việt Nam in the context of the Late Lê (1442-1789) reign with various surreal details. The series has proved attractive to both children and adults. Linh sued Phan Thị Mỹ Hạnh, director of Phan Thị Company, for violating his copyright. Between 2001 and 2006, Linh and Phan Thị Company co-operated to publish 78 episodes of Thần Đồng Đất Việt. Then, the company exploited the characters in the series to create other series. Sunflower Festival fundraises $64,000 for children with cancer
This year’s festival at the Ho Chi Minh City Student Cultural House in the Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh City’s premises in Thu Duc District is one of activities to mark the 12th anniversary of “Uoc mo cua Thuy” program in commemoration of the death of Le Thanh Thuy, a high school girl famous for her long fight against bone cancer. With the theme ‘For the Sunflower Warrior,’ the fundraising event comprised of theater named Sunflower, “ Sunflower bus” to encourage people to use public transportation, gifting 1,000 children patients and giving scholarships “ Thuy’s dream” to kids with cancer. The highlight of the year’s event was the a four-kilometer charity run with the participation of 3,000 people each helping to contribute VND50,000 to cancer kids.
