Dragon fruit export turnover reaches 47 million USD
Export turnover of Vietnamese dragon fruit is expected to top 1 billion USD in 2023./. Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has announced that the country's total export value of dragon fruit so far this year topped 47 million USD, a fall of 48.7% compared to the same period las year. The fruit has been exported to more than 40 countries and territories with China, India, the US, Thailand and the Netherlands being the biggest import ers. However, in the first two months of 2023, its export saw a slump in some markets such as the Republic of Korea (RoK) and Japan with decreases of 25.9% and 35.4%, respectively year-on-year. Container truck plows into three homes in HCMC
The truck driver, whose identity has yet to be revealed by authorities, was carrying a 40-foot container on a provincial road in Ho Chi Minh City-adjacent Cu Chi when the accident took place around 1 a.m. Locals were perplexed by the accident. "I was sleeping when I heard a loud noise," a nearby resident named Thang said. "As I rushed out, I saw a container truck inside my neighbors' houses. It's incredibly lucky that the wall made it stop." Thang said the driver in question had fallen asleep to cause the accident. The incident luckily claimed no lives, according to local authorities. Security camera footage shows that the truck was moving at a steady speed when all of a sudden, it turns and crashes through the barrier before going straight into three roadside houses.
