Rafael Frankel, director of Public Policy for Southeast Asia and South Asia at Meta Group, the owner of Facebook, in an interview with Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Wednesday, highly evaluated the Vietnamese market and stressed the group’s long-term presence in Vietnam. “Meta’s commitment to the Vietnamese market is long-term. Over the past five years, our investment in Vietnam has increased gradually,” Frankel said. Vietnam was deemed to be at the right time to start facilitating offshore wind energy generation in order to fulfill its sustainability goals in power development, said experts in the field at a seminar held last week in Hanoi. The seminar, entitled “Promoting Vietnam’s offshore wind power development: International practices and policy recommendations”, was co-held by the Vietnamese Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission and the Embassy of Denmark in Vietnam. The seminar discussed information and skills in the science and technology field, such as scientific research in the industry from A to Z, applications of data science in many fields, to name but a few. Especially, the event also focused on supporting and empowering women to work in the science and technology field. Viettel currently has more than 14,000 female officers and employees, accounting for 29% of the group’s number of total personnel working in Vietnam, 2.5 times higher than the average number in the field of information technology, electronics and telecommunications globally.
