Traffic restriction to be imposed on dozens of Hanoi’s streets
Hanoi (VNA) - Trucks carrying heavy loads and passenger coaches will be prohibited from traveling through a number of roads in the capital city of Hanoi during the 13th National Party Congress which will be held from January 25 to February 2. In a bid to ease traffic flow for the important political event, lorries carrying 500kg and more and coaches with 24 passengers or above will be banned from certain streets. Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam's growth accelerated to 4.5 percent in the last quarter of 2020, resulting in an annual growth rate of 2.9 percent - making it one of the fastest growing economies in the world, according to the World Bank (WB). In the January edition of its monthly Vietnam Macro Monitoring, the bank said the country’s industrial production and retail sales continued to expand solidly, with growth rates close to pre-pandemic levels. December 2020 marked another strong performance of merchandise trade, with double digit growth rate in imports (23.1 percent) and exports (17.8 percent), while FDI inflows slowed. Consumer price index remained flat in December 2020, as food prices stabilised, while consumer demand has yet to fully recover from the crisis. ASEAN senior officials discuss preparations for AMM Retreat
Addressing the event, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung thanked ASEAN member countries for supporting Vietnam in 2020, expressing his belief that Brunei will lead the ASEAN through challenges to recover from the pandemic. Ha Nam targets 17,500 new jobs in 2021
