Nordic countries, including Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden, shared their experience in green solutions to a circular economy and waste management and policy implications for Vietnam at a seminar held in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday. A trade promotion and cooperation conference between Viet Nam and Mexico was held on March 23 in HCM City. — VNS Photo Hong Linh More than 115 businesses have participated in a trade promotion and cooperation conference between Viet Nam and Mexico in HCM City. At the conference on March 23, Deputy Director of the Investment and Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC) Cao Thi Phi Van said Mexico was the second largest trade partner of Viet Nam in Latin America, and Viet Nam was the 8th largest trade partner of Mexico in Asia. Viet Nam had been taking advantage of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) to reduce the export tax to Mexico. According to the General Department of Customs, bilateral trade in 2022 reached US$5.4 billion, an increase of 7.1 per cent compared to 2021. Vietnam stresses importance of ethical standards in handling water resources

Visa exemption means international tourists can visit Phu Quoc for up to 30 days
Phu Quoc is currently the only destination in Vietnam with this unique visa policy. According to current legal regulations, from July 2020, foreigners and Vietnamese holding foreign passports entering, exiting, and residing in Phu Quoc Island are exempt from visas for a temporary stay of no more than 30 days. Foreigners can enter an international border gate (including air and sea), stay in the transit area at that border gate, and then transfer to Phu Quoc Island to be exempt from visas following this regulation. The U.S. Department of State’s annual human rights report contains inaccurate information about Vietnam, Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said, adding the Southeast Asian nation is ready to discuss the discrepancies with the U.S. Deputy spokeswoman of the foreign ministry Pham Thu Hang spoke at a press conference in Hanoi on Thursday in response to the U.S. State Department’s March 20 announcement of the 2022 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices – the Human Rights Report – which stated that some Asian countries, including Vietnam, had “seriously and systematically violated human rights.” “Vietnam regrets that the Human Rights Report has released biased statements based on inaccurate information about Vietnam,” Hang said. SEA Games torch tours Hanoi
Cambodian Ambassador to Vietnam Chea Kimtha said the torch relay shows a well-developed Cambodia – Vietnam relationship as well as the friendship and solidarity that the two countries have built and cultivated. She thanked the Government of Vietnam, the Vietnam Olympic Committee, and relevant units for supporting, coordinating, and creating favorable conditions for the relay in Vietnam to proceed smoothly. Vietnamese runner Nguyen Thi Huyen, who is multi-time SEA Games winner, and 200 Vietnamese athletes carried the torch around the Hoan Kiem Lake area. Theu started from the Cambodian Embassy and marched through different streets in Hanoi before returning to the embassy.
