NDO – A ceremony was held in Hanoi on July 18 to mark the 55th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic relations (September 5, 1962-2017) and the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty on Amity and Cooperation (July 18, 1977-2017). Held jointly by the Vietnamese Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the President’s Office, the Government Office, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and Hanoi authorities, the ceremony welcomed the attendance of senior leaders and former leaders from both countries, as well as former Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts who assisted Laos in conflicts, in addition to revolutionary contributors and Lao students studying in Vietnam.
