The International Food Festival is an annual cultural and charity fundraising event hosted by the Service Department for Diplomatic Corps, featuring around 120 pavilions representing embassies, foreign relations departments, non-governmental organisations and foreign cultural centres in Vietnam. The event is sponsored by Ambassador Nguyen Nguyet Nga, spouse of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh. A Vietnamese taxi driver accused an American woman of Vietnamese descendant of sexually harassing him on May 4 but oddly the latter had reported to local police that she was raped by another cabbie just a couple of days earlier. The accuser-turned-accused Pham Thi Thanh Ngoc, 40, is also the one who had lodged complaints to local police against a Vietnamese tabloid for what she called ostensible made-up stories last year that she raped many taxi drivers, one of whom was said to be forced to have sex with her over 30 times in two days.
