The investment from VinaCapital Ventures is part of Koina’s seed fundraising round. Koina, established in 2021, aims to build a large and efficient agricultural ecosystem in Vietnam by connecting farmers with financial organisations, suppliers, and retailers. Its “Farmer Platform” is intended to help farmers access loans, publicise prices, and give guidance on good agricultural practices. Businesses in Ho Chi Minh City speed up production to achieve set targets

HCM City woman’s love for abandoned cats
Kim Chi, 57, has devoted her time and love to hundreds of abandoned cats over the past 25 years. Chi gets up at 3 am every day to do the clean-up and prepare food for the cats at her home and then brings the food to feral cats at different places in the city. She usually returns home late in the evening. The woman said that her health has recently deteriorated and she often had backache, which has affected her care for the cats. But luckily, she has support and help from friends and other cat lovers. Chi said that some people only love beautiful animals, but she loves them even when they look ill and dirty. Hai Duong targets 400 million USD in FDI in 2023

Hai Duong (VNA) – The northern province of Hai Duong has set a target to attract 400 million USD in foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2023, according to Vice Director of the provincial Department of Planning and Investment Nguyen Duy Hung. The locality licensed five new FDI projects worth 15.8 million USD in January. Meanwhile, 5.6 million USD was added to three existing projects. Hung said that the locality will speed up work on the province's master plan in the 2021 – 2030 period, with a vision of 2050 as a basis for building priority criteria to attract investment projects, especially planning of a key industrial zone for large-scale, modern and environmentally friendly investment projects. Major earthquake kills 3,700 in Turkey and Syria, weather hits survivors
The magnitude 7.8 quake brought down whole apartment blocks in Turkish cities and piled more devastation on millions of Syrians displaced by years of war. It struck before sunrise in harsh weather and was followed in the early afternoon by another large quake. In Diyarbakir in southeast Turkey, a woman speaking next to the wreckage of the seven-storey block where she lived said: "We were shaken like a cradle. There were nine of us at home. Two sons of mine are still in the rubble, I'm waiting for them." She was nursing a broken arm and had injuries to her face. "It was like the apocalypse," said Abdul Salam al-Mahmoud, a Syrian in the northern town of Atareb. "It's bitterly cold and there's heavy rain, and people need saving." Hundreds of HCM City bus stops get facelifts
Hundreds of bus stops in HCM City have had facelifts, as part of moves to improve the city’s public transport sector. Many bus stations in different districts such as Thu Duc, Go Vap, and Tan Binh have been repainted and had new seating installed. Billboards about bus routes have also been added. A bus stop in HCM City after being upgraded Nguyen Kim Hue, 23, from District 12 said that she uses the bus to go to work every day. Lots of bus stations in HCM City have been improved. Most of the bus stations which have been upgraded have deteriorated over many years. Last year, the HCM City Management Centre of Public Transport repaired 470 out of 710 bus stops. In the coming time, the agency would upgrade 240 additional bus stations and 14 toilets at 13 bus stations.
