The fund will also support market research and development for tourism products and training for personnel in the sector. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and relevant agencies are reviewing necessary documents for establishment of the fund, he noted. Viet Nam News HCM CITY — Fifty Vietnamese companies met with 15 major tour operators from India at B2B meetings held during the “Incredible India Road Show” on Tuesday in HCM City. The Indian delegation of officials and tour operators led by Rashmi Verma, secretary of India’s Ministry of Tourism, organised the roadshow for the first time in Việt Nam to strengthen relations in the tourism sector. Last year was the Year of Friendship commemorating the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 10th anniversary of the Strategic Partnership between the two countries, said P. Nearly three million foreign tourists visit Hanoi
Foreign tourist arrivals to Hanoi from the start of the year rose 25% over a year earlier, at over 2.86 million, reported the city Department of Tourism. Of this, foreign arrivals staying overnight reached over 2.06 million, a year-on-year rise of 26%, while more than 13.57 million domestic tourists were provided services, up 6%; grossing a turnover of VND46 trillion, up 18% compared to the same period last year. Potential markets of the city’s tourism saw sharp increases in tourist arrivals, such as India (up 46%), Denmark (50%), the Netherlands (40%) and Ireland (153%). Three among five Western European countries which were granted visa waiver extensions under the Government’s Resolution 56/NQ-CP dated June 30th, 2016, still maintained two-digit growth rates: Italy (25%), France (21%) and Germany (33%). To deal with the situation, many domestic travel firms have launched new tourism programs at reduced prices, and service quality has been improved. The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism reports an increase of 26% in the total number of foreign tourists coming to Vietnam in the first five months of this year. HCMC To Attract Higher Foreign Tourist Numbers
(VEN) - To further confirm the role as leading locality of tourism in Vietnam and to encourage the development of tourism, Ho Chi Minh City is continuing to strengthen external promotion activities. According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, 3.5 million foreign visitors arrived in the city in 2011, an increase of 12.9 percent compared to 2010. Total tourism revenue reached VND49 trillion, a 19.5 percent increase, accounting for 100 percent of 2011's planned target. Hotels and restaurants revenue stood at VND29 trillion, a 16 percent increase and tourism turnover was VND12 trillion, a 20 percent increase compared to the same period in 2010, indicating the city's attempt to attract increased tourist numbers.
